Pachamama

In 2021 and 2022, I worked to develop a new brand to showcase bags and earrings in the US market made by Colombian artisans, specifically from the Wayuu indigenous group. I then created an online store using Shopify to begin selling the goods. I also worked to advertise the goods and the Pachamama brand on Instagram. The Wayuu live in small settlements called "rancherias" and are organized into matriarchal clans. The Wayuu women are not only the center of the family, but leaders as well. The art of weaving is the most important cultural heritage for the Wayuu community. Passed down for centuries, from older female relatives to young girls crocheting and weaving is a symbol of wisdom, womanhood, creativity, and a way of living. A tradition that, as a proud Colombian, I want to honor, support, and share with the world.
